Angola government has extended the deadline for the submission of bids for the concession and operation of the Port of Luanda multipurpose terminal, the Concession Evaluation Commission said on Friday.
This is the result from the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, the commission stated.
The international tender had previously set March 30 as the deadline for the opening of the bids.
The terminal has handling capacity of about 2.6M tons per year. The business to win the tender will manage the terminal for 20-25 years.
The main goal is to promote development and improve efficiency of the terminal activity through the active participation of private firms in this sector.
