An employee of the Provincial Health Directorate has been arrested following an underage had tested positive for the HIV after having allegedly been raped by him in the city of Quelimane, the capital of the Zambezia province, Mozambique.
The girl was raped last week and the offence was reported to the police by the rapist’s wife after she had caught her 41-year-old husband having sexual intercourse with the 11-year-old girl in their bathroom. It is known that the girl lives next door with her parents to the rapist.
“He used to call me whenever he went to the bathroom. He told me to take off his clothes,” the child, revealed.
The worst thing is that, according to the Zambezia police authorities, the girl does not recall the number of times she was sexually assaulted by her neighbour.
The Health Directorate said they carried out a medical assessment confirmed that rape had been committed and, unfortunately, showed that the minor had contracted the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
