The outputs of an Italian oil company Eni group in Libya have been reduced by 50pc, Eni’s CEO Claudio Descalzi has confirmed, saying that the oil production had decreased from 300 thousand to about 160 thousand barrels per day.

The safety of employees and production facilities is the main priority of the company amid an ongoing crisis in Libya, Eni’s CEO explained.

It has been highlighted that most of the efforts would be targeted at preserving assets and equipment and securing the company’s employees.

“The Libyan crisis has no effect on the oil prices, but it is costing Libya a lot,” Descalzi added.
