A Zimbabwean boy, aged 6, has succumbed to severe injuries he received after jumping from a moving pick-up truck.
According to the reports, the tragic incident occurred when the child, together with seven other people, was traveling from Tsholotsho to Bulawayo.
“As the driver approached the 40km peg along Bulawayo-Tsholotsho road, he realised through the rearview mirror that the late Admire Makangadze had jumped off the moving vehicle,” Matabeleland North police spokesperson Chief Inspector Siphiwe Makonese told the journalists. “When he stopped the vehicle to check, he observed that the deceased had sustained a deep cut to the head.”
The young resident had been rushed to the Mpilo Central Hospital where he died four days later.
The police continue to determine the details of the incident.
