With the Treasure struggling to keep the promise to provide R2 billion rand of emergency funding, the South African Airways (SAA) is running short of cash. As a result, as many as 19 international and domestic SAA flights have reportedly been cancelled.
While the state airline’s spokesman Tlali Tlali advised an official statement would be announced later today, he admitted that “a few domestic flights” had been cancelled. However, the Flight Centre has confirmed that the flights were removed from the Airline Global Distribution Systems yesterday and their travel group had to work “through the night to advise, assist and re-accommodate any affected passengers where possible.”

So if you have a ticket booked with SAA, make sure to double check the status of your flight on their website at FlySAA.
