Lesotho Prime Minister Thomas Thabane was summoned to the police office in order to answer questions over the alleged links to the 2017 murder of his estranged wife.
The 80-year-old who has recently announced his resignation as a result of the public backlash is due to “cast a light” on the controversial case.
Lipolelo Thabane had been gunned down in an alleged hit that had taken place just two days before her husband was sworn into office.
“This case does not only attract the attention of Basotho nation (Lesotho) but it is of international concern,” deputy police commissioner Paseka Mokete told the media.
The local police also demanded Thabane’s current wife to report; however, her whereabouts are still unknown.
