The workers of Zimbabwe’s public sector will soon receive allowances from the government amid the biting economic crisis in the country, the reports said on Wednesday.
The national authorities claimed the measure should help the public servants overcome the financial issues.
“This follows the Public Service Commission’s approval to implement the Government’s decision, guided by the capacity of the economy and the 2020 budget,” the official statement reads.
The “Cushioning Allowance”, as described by the government, will vary depending on the classes of beneficiaries with the earners in the highest E class to receive 800 Zimbabwe dollars.
The F group, the lowest in the list, will be able to claim 400 Zimbabwe dollars per person.
