The Zimbabwean Republic Police (ZRP) have arrested a group of locals who conducted an armed robbery stealing ZWL$300.00 and 40 kilogrammes gold ore from a man in Norton.
According to the reports, four suspects, aged between 24 and 31, carried out the attack last week.
Armed with 2 machetes, an axe and 2 wooden logs they had easily managed to overpower their victim and rob him of the ore which they further attempted to sell.
“A follow up was made by the complainant and his colleagues and 1 person was struck with an axe as the accused persons resisted the civil arrest,” the police said in a statement.
The officers tracked down the accused who are now in custody awaiting their court hearings.
