Earlier this week, President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi inaugurated the Industrial and Commercial Institute of Pemba’s Hotel School in the city of Pemba, Cabo Delgado province, home to the third-largest bay in the world.
“The construction of this important building, which should have been inaugurated last semester, was postponed as a result of the damage caused by Cyclone Kenneth. It is part of the implementation of the broad process of ongoing vocational education reforms being introduced in the country,” Nyusi stated. “As a result of this reform, we aim to develop a properly qualified workforce with professional skills, work culture and entrepreneurial spirit to effectively intervene in the country’s development processes.”
According to Nyusi, the central goal of the government is the promotion of human capital. It is necessary to ensure a fast and sustainable development of Mozambique. Tourism is one of the chosen priority areas.
