Auxillia Mnangagwa, the wife of Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has called off the launch of a new plastics facility in Houghton Park, Harare, citing the lack of required documents.
The reports suggest the Reborn Plastics company has not received an approval from the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) to conduct its operations on the allocated land.
EMA spokesperson Amkela Sidange stated the organisation had issued an application to license its work but was rejected due to the undisclosed reasons.
It reapplied later but the dialogue between the parties did not reach the EIA (Environment Impact Assessment) certificate level.
“The site plan was rejected at prospective level,” the official told the media.
