Mpendulo Zwelonke Sigcawu, the AmaXhosa King who died two weeks ago, will be laid to rest on Friday surrounded by more than 10, 000 mourners.
The people with several monarchs and former statesmen among them have already started to gather near the Nqadu Great Place in kuGatyana, the Eastern Cape, to honour Sigcawu’s memory.
President Cyril Ramaphosa is also expected to attend the ceremony and deliver a eulogy.
Traditional rituals are also due to be held before the main part of the funeral service.
51-year-old Sigcawu passed away at the Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital in Mthatha after kidney failure. According to the reports, the ruler had had a car accident and broke several ribs; unfortunately, the medics could not save his life despite all the taken measures.
