Zimbabwe celebrates 16 days against GBV

Zimbabweans are celebrating the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. The annual international campaign started on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and will end on 10 December, Human Rights Day.

The campaign runs under the theme “Orange the World, Generation Equality Stands against Rape!” and aims to overcome the challenges that women and girls face throughout their lives.

According to Ronald Chihana, a Diocese of Mutare Community Care Programme Officer, Zimbabwe hosts sports and interactive campaigns that discuss such issues as early pregnancy, child marriage, HIV and AIDS.
