The South African police have arrested seven people who went on a looting spree during a recent strike in De Doorns, the Western Cape.
On Thursday, a crowd of people forced to stop two heavy-duty vehicles while they were driving along the N1 highway.
A video that is currently making circles on the web shows several individuals carrying boxes with the new TV sets away from the scene.
“So far, seven people, aged between 25 and 56, have been arrested for theft,” Provincial police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana confirmed, adding there was one woman among the nabbed.
The law-enforcers have reportedly launched a door-to-door operation to recover the stolen items while also determining the identities of other perpetrators.
