A breakdown in the water supply has left approximately 70, 000 Mozambicans in the Morrumbene district, the Inhambane province, without their source of clean water.
According to the media reports, the failed equipment at the local pumping station resulted in the closure of 78 water supply platforms out of 247 located all across the area.
The people, including children and elder citizens, have been forced to use unsafe sources of drinking water, risking their lives consuming vital liquid with impurities. Others now have to travel long distances in search of cleaner water.
The authorities claim they are working on resolving the matter. The maintenance teams are currently repairing the systems and its damaged parts.
