Sandra Moonsamy, a Durban businesswoman and the daughter of a multibillionaire logistics boss, has been found six months after she went missing.
According to the reports, the well-known resident was held captive inside one of the houses in Mpumalanga. The perpetrators bound Moonsamy in chains preventing her from escaping the improvised cell they had made.
The police managed to rescue the woman stating she was conscious but in a bad state.
“An intensive investigation by the Hawks task team ultimately traced and located four suspects, two were arrested in Johannesburg. Further investigations by the team led to the arrest of two additional suspects in Emalahleni,” Hawks spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi told the media.
Moonsamy was allegedly kidnapped in May this year while she was driving her black Range Rover along M13. The family which had later received an anonymous demand for an R140m ransom decided not to rely only on the police efforts and hired a private detective to investigate the matter.
