Maximilian Mainza, a 36-year-old educator at the Copperbelt University (CBU) who was stabbed to death, will be reportedly buried today.
The head of the institution’s economic department fell victim to a violent crime last Saturday when he attempted to give his female friend a ride home in Nkana East.
The car had been stopped by an armed robber with whom the specialist got into a fight. The incident resulted not only in the murder but also in a rape case, as the perpetrator — once he finished Mainza — decided to ravish his companion inside the vehicle.
The deceased left behind a wife and three children.
CBU vice-chancellor Naison Ngoma stated Mainza had made a significant contribution to the curriculum development in the university and his murder was extremely devastating to all of the staff.
