A 46-year-old pastor was shot dead during a robbery at a guest house in Silverlakes, Johannesburg in late last week.

The pastor who is a Lesotho national was shot dead in his room during a robbery at a guest house in Silverlakes where he was staying with his wife.

According to Boschkop police sperson constable Yeroboam Mbatsane, the 46-year-old man and his wife were sleeping in their room when a group of men forced the door open.

“The pair were awakened by the presence of the group in the room who fired several shots at them, hitting the pastor,” said Mbatsane.

“The woman was not shot.”

Mbatsane said the robbers demanded cash from the woman before taking her handbag and cellphones.
