Malema: Zimbabwe, we are with you, you are not alone

Those were the words Economic Freedom Fighters Julius Malema used to close of the memorial service the party had hosted for former Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe.

“The Mugabe family, we are with you, you are not alone. We are going to see this through together because as Africans we look after each other,” said Malema.

Malema asked the ruling Zanu-PF to afford Mugabe a dignified send-off and not to play politics during this time.

“Give the old man a dignified send off,” Malema added, “whatever the differences you had, please put them aside, let us bury the old man in a dignified manner.”

Malema has banned investigative journalism units amaBhungane and Daily Maverick’s Scorpio from attending party events.

“Our people will never be told by Daily Maverick and amaBhungane who their leaders are,” said Malema.

“We shall treat them as enemies. Anyone who wants to go into solidarity with them in the media houses, you are more than welcome. Anyway, we are not getting any coverage. It’s not coverage what you are giving to us. It’s nonsense.”
