Call fo Action Civil Society Group will march outside Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) Sandton, Johannesburg from 3am to 3pm.
The march is expected to be a silent protest by various organisations and women against the scourge of Gender Based Violence that has plagued the country.
The march under the hashtags #SilenceisNOTanoption and #IWILLNOTBENEXT is scheduled to start off at Mushroom Farm Park and make its way towards JSE in Sandton.
Organisers say 47 60-seater buses will arrive at 3am to drop protestors off at Mushroom Farm Park and 2900 people are expected to join the protest.
The protest is expected to be a peaceful sit-in around the JSE and a full road closure is planned for Maude Street between Rivonia Road and West Street.
A memorandum is expected to be handed over to JSE executives at 10h00 to 11h00 am, and the sit-in will continue until 15h00 pm.
Reports of violent crimes against women have sparked outrage in the country. This follows the disappearance and murder of UCT student Uyinene Mrwetyana last month, the murder of Eastern Cape boxing champion Leeghandre Jegels and many other women and children that have been killed in the hands of men.
The Black Friday Shutdown has been trending on Twitter with users expressing their support for it.
