Filipe Nyusi, the president of Mozambique, has signed an amendment into law which orders the government to revisit the national defence and security policy.

The announcement was made through the Presidency which issued a statement on Monday.

Upon finishing, the project will provide Mozambique with thr renewed policies adapted to the “current national and international challenges” the country is facing, spokeswoman Ana Comoana advised.

The amendment was approved by the Council of Ministers last year; however, it took time for the Assembly of the Republic to ensure it did not contradict the national Constitution.
