The Zambian Public Prosecution considers the current judicial system (in relation to the wildlife security) weak and very abusable by the poachers and the animal traffickers.

According to director Lillian Siyunyi, the laws are needed to be strengthened in order to combat various wildlife crimes that have recently increased in number.

The official noted that most of the perpetrators related to such cases were linked to international underground networks so it was crucial for Africa to unite against those organized crime groups.

While speaking in Livingstone todaySiyunyi said the investigators should improve their intelligence gathering and evidence collecting skills in order to break the vicious circle as the wildlife crimes put security, political stability, and ecosystem at risk of being partly or fully destroyed.
