The trial of the ousted Sudan president has begun on Wednesday in Khartoum.
Al Bashir is not attending the hearings for security reasons. The matter was postponed from August 15 to August 17 after the ex-president’s lawyers had submitted the request.
Al Bashir’s defence consists of 96 lawyers, according to the press statement. The ex-president is held in Khartoum’s Kober prison.
Omar Al Bashir is on trial for corruption and illegal ownership of wealth and foreign currency.
Al Bashir was overthrown by the Sudanese military on April 11. He himself seized power in a coup in 1989.
