After a loss in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Caster Semenya’s matter, Athletics South Africa (ASA) is reportedly going to appeal the judgement in the Swiss Federal Tribunal.

SA Minister of Sport and Recreation Tokozile Xasa has confirmed the information and said that ASA would continue the battle against IAAF’s regulations forcing female athletes with higher testosterone levels to take suppressants to participate in competitions.

The organization found a clear contradiction between the two court’s decisions — over their incident and the similar case of Indian sprinter Dutee Chand in 2015.

SA authorities also aim to apply sanctions against the IAAF for violating international human rights instruments and will intensify the work to push the penalties through the United Nations General Assembly.
