As of April, the residents of New Zealand will be able to apply for a visa to visit South Africa online. Moreover, they will be able to print the granted visa at home.
The e-visas were first announced by president Cyril Ramaphosa in his State of the Union (SONA) address in February.
Among other changes, the tourism department’s communications director, Blessing Manale, also mentioned that long multiple entry visas had been introduced for frequent travellers to South Africa. Visa requirements for China and India have been simplified.
All these measures will hopefully help to grow South Africa’s international tourism industry.
