10 injured, boy, 3, critical as bakkie rolls in Mpumalanga

A horrific road accident occurred in Mpumalanga resulted in ten injured with a three-year-old boy among them, who received serious wounds and traumas, ER24 reported on Sunday.

According to the statement, the group was traveling in the back of the bakkie along N12 when the vehicle rolled on its side as the driver lost control of it. The paramedics who appeared soon after, saw the car standing upright in the middle of the highway while the passengers were scattered around the scene.

“Paramedics assessed the patients and found that a three-year-old boy had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition, while at least 10 other adults had sustained minor to moderate injuries,” ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said.

In order to save the young patient’s life, specialists decided to airlift him by the ER24 Oneplan helicopter to Sunshine Hospital for urgent treatment. In the same time, others were taken to the nearest hospitals in ambulances.
