Cape Town police have registered a serious transport robbery in the city.
According to the reports, several perpetrators pretending to be normal passengers stopped a Golden Arrow bus on Wednesday, locked the doors and pointed guns at the driver. The incident took place when the vehicle reached the R300 upturn from Stock Road.
The suspects made off with stolen items, including expensive cellphones, jewelry and cash. Those passengers who denied giving their stuff willingly were slapped by the robbers.
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk confirmed a case of robbery with a firearm was opened at Bellville South and then transferred to Phillipi East SAPS for investigation. So far, no arrests have been made.
