A large amount of people including Vice President Inonge Wina came yesterday to the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka to mourn Zambia’s High Commissioner to Kenya Brenda Muntemba Sichilembe.
Family, friends and workmates of Mrs. Sichilembe described her as a humble, selfless, and devoted Christian who wanted to be helpful to the humanity.
The husband of the deceased Commissioner, Reverend Sulanji Sichilembe, said that a foundation was to be created to honour his wife’s memory.
Mr Sichilembe said this foundation would be helping the less privileged in society.
Her children Mwango Kondolo and Lukundo Nachilembe described their mother as a God loving person.
The family representative, retired Lieutenant General Reverend Ronnie Shikapwasha, earlier said that Mrs. Sichilembe had been dedicated to God’s work.
The Head of African Diplomatic Missions in Kenya, Beyene Russon, also remembered Mrs Sichilembe as a hard-working diplomat.
Ambassador Russon added that Mrs Sichilembe was going to be missed among her peers.
President Edgar Lungu has accorded the deceased Brenda Muntemba Sichilembe an official funeral.
She died in Kenya on March 19th, 2019.
