Vytjie Mentor, the former ANC MP who previously served as the chairperson of the portfolio committee on public works, has decided to join the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) ahead of elections.
According to the statement, the party will welcome its new member on a media briefing this Thursday, also informing the community about the current state of their election campaign.
It is unknown how many others switched allegiance to ACDP, but reports indicate that Mentor is not the only new party member to be presented during the event.
Mentor left Parliament after the 2014 elections and later took part in the Zondo Commission of inquiry into state capture, testifying on the corruption allegations and Gupta family’s involvement in those cases. In recent weeks, she also notified her Twitter followers about the new political home but did not provide any additional details.
