Mnangagwa to attend SADC conference

President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa intends to attend the Southern African Development Community Solidarity Conference with the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic in South Africa. The conference is taking place on March 25-26 in Pretoria.

The main purpose of the conference is to reaffirm the region’s continued support for Saharawi’s autonomy. The leaders of the SADC intend to discuss the matter of supporting the holding of a referendum on self-determination for the Saharawi people.

The conference on Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic is held in accordance with the decision made at the 37th Summit of the SADC heads of state and government, held in Pretoria in 2017.
