Despite the fatal crash of Boeing 737 MAX 8 that resulted in 157 deaths, Ethiopian Airlines still believes in the aerospace company that had provided it with the controversial series of planes.
Tewolde GebreMariam, the carrier’s CEO, stated on Sunday that the group would continue to cooperate with Boeing in the future as both stakeholders were willing to do so.
“Let me be clear: Ethiopian Airlines believes in Boeing. They have been a partner of ours for many years,” GebreMariam stated.
Ethiopian Airlines have been continuously helping with the tragedy investigation ever since it happened, trying to reach the bottom and determine crash causes.
“We will work with investigators in Ethiopia, in the US and elsewhere to figure out what went wrong,” GebreMariam added.
The Ethiopian incident was second to occur with MAX aircrafts. In October, an Indonesian Lion Air jet was destroyed under similar circumstances and claimed the lives of 189 passengers and crew onboard.
