A head-on collision on the N2 highway near Riviersonderend took the lives of three people on Wednesday morning. Two more people were injured. As it follows from the official police data, all dead men were male.
The crash between a Tata vehicle and a Hyundai SUV occurred near Caledon before 8 am.
According to the provincial traffic chief, Kenny Africa, the N2 highway remains inaccessible to motorists from both directions.
“The three passengers who died were all male. Both drivers were seriously injured. The N2 was closed and we ask motorists to please make use of alternative routes,” he said.
