Eskom warns South Africans about additional power cuts that are on the way to strike the country.
According to the statement made by utility’s spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe, the load shedding process will be implemented from 3 pm. The representative neither revealed any additional information, nor specified when the measures would end.
“This is due to plant breakdowns, resulting in an imbalance between supply and demand. Please visit the websites of your electricity providers for a list of which areas will be affected,” Eskom said.
On Thursday morning, the power utility announced Stage 1 load shedding that would be implemented throughout the day. In order to return to normal operation Eskom needed to shed 1,000MW from the national grid, however, the numbers doubled as the process switched to upper level.
