ANC at odds with EFF after opposition posts ‘free driver license’ banner

The African National Congress (ANC) members have accused the Economic Freedom Fighters of vote buying as the controversial banner offering free licenses to EFF supporters became viral on social media.

The digital banner reads: “Free drivers and learners licenses 10-31 March 2018.

“Public High Schools, TVET Colleges, Universities & Unemployed Ladies between the ages of 18 & 25.

“Sign up for sending your details i.e, age, institution, school and proof of registration to vote in 2019 general elections”.

The ANC responded to the published materials with furious anger.

“This despicable act of vote buying must be exposed for what it is and constitutes an illegal act that undermines democracy,” ANC spokesperson Dakota Legoete said.

“The levels of desperation demonstrated by the EFF are indicative of a party that has accepted that their fortunes at the polls are questionable.”

According to the representative, the governing party believes the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) should deal with those ‘unlawful’ acts.
