The Zondo Commission of Inquiry is going to analyze the situation at the Eskom energy company and investigate the crisis and the alleged company’s takeover. Eskom related documents will be put on record by the inquiry’s legal team on Wednesday.
The first witness on the state-owned South African energy company is expected on Friday.
The details around the crisis at Eskom are still emerging at the moment. For now, the state capture commission is expected to deal with the mismanagement and corruption at the firm.
Earlier, the Zondo Commission of Inquiry heard evidence from Catherine MacLeod, a Treasury economist. She said that the suspending of Nhlanhla Nene was costly, and described the impact of political uncertainty during Jacob Zuma’s presidency on the economy.
