Gauteng speedster busted for going 100 km/h over speed limit

A 30-year-old man was arrested by Gauteng traffic police, who caught him driving at 222km/h.

According to the reports, the speedster was on his way to Bloemfontein, when he decided to test his car and reach the maximum speed. The police officers saw him on N1 road and immediately responded with the chase.

“The man was caught traveling in a silver Mercedes Benz GLE AMG,” the Gauteng department of community safety said. For now, the driver awaits a Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court proceeding to be held on Thursday.

In relation to the case, MEC of community safety Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane assured local residents the law enforcement units would continue to deal with the speedsters breaking road rules in a timely manner.
