Members of various South African parties now have an opportunity to express their opinion on the states voiced by President Cyril Ramaphosa during the recent State of the Nation Address. The debate over Sona that started at 2 pm on Tuesday has been taking place in the Parliament building in Cape Town.
The first citizen delivered his speech last Thursday, touching the most burning issues within the Republic, including the Eskom’s financial crisis and the government corruption. He also approved the date on the country’s general elections, which is going to be held on April 9.
In relation to the power utility, Ramaphosa announced that Eskom would split into three separate entities with different areas of work. According to the task team working to put an end to the company’s struggle, it will solve a large number of internal problems.
