On Tuesday, February 12, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) announced its intention to support the government of Zimbabwe in the fight against social and economic difficulties in the country. The community has indicated that it will certainly support President Emmerson Mnangagwa in his efforts to resolve the urgent issues.
In addition, SADC demanded to cancel sanctions unconditionally.
Sadc chairperson, the President of Namibia, Dr. Hage Geingob, expressed condemnation of the protests that have taken place in Harare and Bulawayo and provoked mass riots.
According to the SADC heads, the sanctions which have been imposed on Zimbabwe in 2000 have a negative impact on the country’s economic development.
