The former South African Revenue Service (Sars) commissioner Tom Moyane was unable to regain his place in the department. As it has become known on Tuesday, February 12, the Constitutional Court rejected the Moyane’s claim, in which he demanded to become Commissioner Sars again.
Earlier, Tom Moyane has appealed to the Supreme Court to respond to the High Court ruling, which concluded that the decision to dismiss him was lawful and rational.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed a working group chaired by former finance minister Trevor Manuel.
It is assumed that the group will conduct interviews and select candidates for the post of a new Sars commissioner.
