Eskom, a South African energy company, announced the load shedding at Stage 3 on Tuesday. According to the local energy giant press office, disconnection will be carried out today from 08:00 to 23:00.
The power outage in Stage 3 involves cutting of 3,000 megawatts from the national grid.
As it has become known earlier, the company started to carry out a load shedding again. For the first time in 2019, the power plant suspended work on Sunday. Then, on Monday, the power outage has occurred at Stage 4, after some power units failed.
“The power system remains constrained. We’ll continue to provide regular updates about the state of the power system through various media platforms,” Eskom spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe said.
According to company representatives, the return of units to operation does not cancel power outages due to small stocks of water and diesel fuel.
