Ramaphosa: state land has been defined for redistribution

President Cyril Ramaphosa confirmed the government has already designated state land for redistribution. The land that will become part of the accelerated land reform is strategically located and will be released to meet the needs of human settlements in urban and suburban areas. According to eNCA, the National Assembly decided to amend the section 25 of the Constitution. The expropriation of land without compensation was part of the resolution of the 54th National Conference of the ANC.

Deputy President David Mabuza is to lead the Inter-Agency Committee on Land Reform to speed up the process along with the process of constitutional review. Dr Vuyo Mahlathi will lead an expert advisory group to advise the state on his land reform program and is expected to submit his report by the end of March. The President said that the focus will be on high-quality agricultural products with high export potentials such as fruits, wine and vegetables.
