A member of The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) was seen slapping a man believed to be a police official shortly after the State of the Nation Address.
The activities were undertaken as planned for the scandal broke in the premises of the Parliament’s building in Cape Town.
According to a 14-second video published on Twitter, the EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu and the party leader Julius Malema were walking with MPs dressed in red, when suddenly a raging conversation started between the EFF members and a man in a black suit.
It’s unclear what led to the situation heating up but after several arguments, the dialogue got out of control as the EEF MP delivered a solid slap to the man’s face.
So it didn't get lit inside the precinct but outside. That slap, I'm sure he made your mama fat insult 🤔😀 pic.twitter.com/kzdg7VokcY

According to ACDP MP Steve Swart, the incident occurred when the party members were on the way to leave the building.
“I saw someone who I thought was a police officer in civilian clothes, with blood on his cheek,” he added.
