South Africa’s Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) is willing to launch its own investigation following the death of a Durban University of Technology (DUT) student.
20-year-old Mlungisi Madonsela was shot during a skirmish with the private security following the student protest occurred in the university. He later passed away in a local hospital due to the seriousness of the received injuries.
“I have instructed our senior law enforcement officers to immediately probe this case, “ PSiRA chief executive Manabela Chauke said on Wednesday. He also sent the deepest condolences to the victim’s family.
