A giant fire caught Holy Cross RC Primary School in the Cape Town CBD, has been successfully extinguished by the local firefighting services.
The blaze started to capture premises on Thursday afternoon, following several plumes of smoke that was seen coming from the side of the building near Keizersgracht Street. An exact place where the fire began, remains unknown, but it’s believed that it started to spread at the unfinished library.
No injuries have been registered among the pupils and the personnel as the school was evacuated instantly after the first presence of the flame. According to the deputy principal Paul Roussouw, inside the building that burned there were grades R, 4 and 7 — all of the learners will continue studying on Friday.
