Former correctional services commissioner Linda Mti was given a bail of R20,000. The ex-correctional services head appeared before the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Pretoria on Thursday.
The former boss surrendered to the police after the charges of corruption and money laundering.
According to the prosecutor, Linda Mti flew out of the Eastern Cape on Thursday morning, February 7, and came to the police of his own accord. The prosecutor also noted that these circumstances did not give grounds for the state to doubt the provision of bail.
It was decided to postpone the corruption case of accused Linda Mti to March 27.
Earlier, the Hawks arrested several officials for alleged corruption charges.
