The members of the Gauteng education department rushed to the Valhalla Primary School in Centurion after a case of child sexual abuse had been registered there. According to the reports, a 55-year-old teacher behaved inappropriately towards 23 pupils from Grades 5-7 by touching them in a sexual way.
The incident allegedly happened in June last year, however, the awareness has been raised just recently.
The Government school body responded with a letter of suspension, which the suspected educator has already received. The department officials, in turn, met with children’ parents and also brought a psycho-social unit to the school to determine if there were any other affected by the crime.
