On February 10, Zimbabwe Hindus will celebrate the 90th anniversary of Cameron Street Shree Omkar Mandir in Harare. The festivities will be organized by the Hindoo Society Harare, a registered charitable organization that appeared in 1916.
The temple that celebrates the anniversary has become the central platform for spiritual events of the Hindu community. The temple tries to promote and preserve the Hindu religious and cultural heritage, and also seeks harmony and mutual understanding between different religions.
Hindu statesman Rajan Zed mentioned the efforts of the Hindoo Society Harare (HSH) and the Zimbabwe Hindu community to keep the temple in proper condition.
