The trial of the case against the leader of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church, pastor Shepherd Bushiri and his wife was rescheduled for Wednesday, February 6. Currently the police are investigating the case.
The couple appeared in the Commercials Crimes Court in Pretoria on charges of fraud, money laundering and violation of the Prevention of Organised Crimes Act.
At the same time, pastor Bushiri is actively supported by his admirers, including during the service in his ECG church. In addition, dozens of followers of the self-proclaimed pastor gathered near the courthouse, demanding to release him.
According to a preliminary information, the couple will apply for release on bail.
