Shamila Batohi, appointed as a head of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in South Africa, officially takes office on Friday, February 1. She will start work in the new position, becoming the successor to Shaun Abrahams, who resigned from the post of the NPA’s as ruled by the Constitutional Court.
It is noteworthy that Shamila Batohi has become the first female head of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA). She will fill in one of the most difficult and responsible positions in the country.
South Africans expressed hope that the new head of the prosecutor’s office would restore the NPA’s reputation spoiled by a long-term accusations of political bias.
