South African President Cyril Ramaphosa condemned the attack on a mosque in the southern Philippines, which occurred on Tuesday. The President sent a message to his Philippine counterpart, Rodrigo Duterte, and expressed sincere regret at the incident.

Cyril Ramaphosa noted that terrorist acts, like the terrorists themselves, cannot be justified under any conditions. He also said he would provide the necessary support in the fight against terrorism in all its forms.

On Tuesday morning, two people were killed by a grenade in a mosque in the southern Philippinecity of Zamboanga. Four citizens have been wounded.

On Sunday, January 27, an explosion that occurred in a cathedral on Jolo Island in Sulu province in the southern Philippines left a death toll of 20.
