MDC leader Nelson Chamisa said that his party is ready for a constructive dialogue with the ruling Zimbabwe party Zanu-PF. The opposition intends to take a step forward in order to contribute to improving the economic, political and social situation in the country.
“We are ready to talk, but we are going to talk about that issue (Mnangagwa’s legitimacy) as the first issue. It is a dialoguing point. Let’s agree on that issue. Why are you putting conditions? Why do you want Chamisa to acknowledge you? If you allege that you won the elections, why do you want the acknowledgement of an individual?” Nelson Chamisa was addressing at the party’s Morgan Richard Tsvangirai House headquarters in Harare.
However, Chamisa set a condition according to which the issue of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s appointment legitimacy should be resolved.
Earlier, Nelson Chamisa lost the election race to the current president, Emmerson Mnangagwa. Nelson Chamisa did not want to accept the election results announced by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission despite the decision by the Constitutional Court.
